I know he left the Akatsuki, but too bad! Here’s an Orochimaru x You drabble.
I have very conflicting emotions towards Orochimaru. I despise him because he performed inhumane experiments on people, hurt his student that respected and admired him, betrayed his village, he treated his subordinates as nothing more than tools, and he lured Sasuke away from his village with promises of power. Orochimaru is the main source of woe in the Naruto world. I also admire Orochimaru because, deep down, he’ll always be that sweet orphan boy whose parents died in a war and was good friends with Jiraiya and Tsunade.
And this is probably my shortest drabble yet, even shorter than the Sasori one or the Kakuzu one. xD
Blah. No more ranting. Just read the darn drabble. Lol.

“You’re leaving.”
He turned to you, narrowed eyes of gold looking over you lazily. Ebony locks of silky smooth hair danced gracefully with the breeze of the wind. Pale lips parted and he spoke. “I am.”
You frowned, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear before speaking again. “Why?”
Orochimaru was silent for a moment, as if he were thinking of an answer to himself. Soon his lips curved upward into a sneer. “Akatsuki and I no longer share the same interests. If I ever want to complete my own goals then I need to go off on my own.” He turned his head away from you, his eyes glazing over as he stared towards the sky. “Maybe I’ll start my own village. I’ve always thought I’d make a strong leader.”
You let out a sigh, taking a step closer to him.” “It’s the Uchiha, isn’t it” you stated more than questioned. “I don’t know what happened between you and Itachi but running away isn’t going to solve your problems.
He turned back to you, his serpent-like eyes as cold and sharp as daggers. “I’m not running away, and especially not from the Uchiha. It’s true that he’s as strong as me, maybe even stronger. I want his eyes, I want the Sharingan, but I already know that I can’t get them from Itachi; he’d never willingly give up his body to me. However, I know for a fact that there is still one other Uchiha left.” You were almost frightened by the manic tone of his voice as his eyes shined with a crazed light. “I’ll make him my next vessel.”
“Are those eyes worth your life? You know what Leader does to people that try to abandon the Akatsuki” you said with a scowl, placing your hands on your hips as you glowered at him. “There’s no way he’ll let you leave with your life; you know too much.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“He’ll send other members after you” you continued. “He won’t rest until you’re dead.”
He grinned, the elongated tongue of his poking through to wet suddenly dry lips. “I suppose you’ll try to stop me, hmm? Are you going to kill me?” he asked, his eyes sparkling as he taunted you.
“…No.”
His eyes widened briefly, surprised by your response, but he quickly returned his expression back to a snake-like grin. Honestly, you were surprised by your answer just as much as he was. You weren’t sure what would drive you to allow him to leave, especially when it would put you at risk if Leader found out.
Maybe it was because you weren’t in the mood to fight Orochimaru.
Maybe it was because you knew you couldn’t stop him even if you tried.
Or maybe it was because you secretly wished that you could leave the Akatsuki just as he was doing.
Whatever the reason, you had made your decision. You watched silently as Orochimaru turned away from you, that smirk of his still present on his face as he started to walk away. You forced yourself to stay still and keep silent as he walked out of your life, knowing that if you ever met him face-to-face again that one of you would die.
It wasn’t until he was out of sight that you allowed your teeth to grit, your fists to clench, and your eyes to turn puffy and red from shedding tears. You took in several deep breaths, calming yourself down before you returned back to the Akatsuki base.
You gave the patch of ground where Orochimaru had been staring one last glance, saying goodbye to the closest thing you ever had to a friend before turning back towards Akatsuki headquarters, the wind blowing your hair about wildly.
You had never been a religious person, but you prayed that if you and Orochimaru ever did meet again that he would be the one to win.
