“Well, if you’re going to act like that, koishii, then maybe you won’t receive the present I have for you.” The hairs on the back of my neck stood on bristled ends; years of familiarity with the sickeningly sweet demonic voice echoing in my head restrained the bowels of my stomach from churning in unease, yet I ignored Shukaku’s spiritual hand gliding over my restless thoughts, purring softly as he did so.

I mentally scoffed, trying to ignore the sand hissing unhappily in the confined darkness of Gaara-sensai’s gourd, my weary eyes flickering unceremoniously over the confidential document laying before my sights. Ignore him, ignore him, ignore him. He’s just trying to irk you to no end. No surprise there; he’s always been like this.

“Knowing you and your froward ways, Shukaku, I’m willing to bet that your so-called ‘present’ is anything but delightful. Can you leave me be for once? I have to memorize this for Gaara-sensai.”
