Summary: “...Remember what we told you, Maria. No fighting. No rough-housing. No back-talking. And most importantly, no worrying your Mother; Gods knows that you’ve given her one too many near-heart-attacks.”

“...It’s not that we don’t trust your judgment, Aibou. We just don’t trust your instincts, subconscious or not. You’ve caused enough mayhem for one week. Why don’t you relax and think about the events that will unfold next week? Remember, you mustn’t overexert your mental state. It’s not just for our safety, but for yours as well.”

“Well, there you have it, Yami; you too, Atem. I stayed out of trouble, kept my nose clean... Exactly the opposite of what you two would’ve done.”

The balls of her feet kicked dismally at the sand, sending tufts and billows of dust and gravel to the cool breeze of the nocturnal sky; swirls of a reddish-orange, periwinkle purple and pink slowly extinguishing over her head, making room for clear-cut clouds and star-lit blackness. Sighing, she idly glanced at the abandoned playground, hearing distant noises blaring in her buzzing eardrums and mind, heavily occupied with the anxious anticipation of when they would appear next; far off where she was car alarms screeched, windshields were shattered, guard hounds howled and stray cats yowled.

Some other noise snapped her out of her daze; frowning, she looked up at the park’s entrance, the glistening moist sheen of mist revealed dark silhouettes of five people. One of them was singing horridly off-key, bellowing a loud, crude song with dirty lyrics no sixteen-year-old girl should hear; the other four accompanying the performer, the presumed leader of the bunch, was laughing. She smiled to herself, sliding off the swing and hiding in the shadows branching off an old Maple tree.

She knew who the person who was in desperate need of a singing tutor, not to mention some lessons.

It was her brother.
