And here I present a You x Kisame drabble. And no, I'm not obsessed with Kisame. No, not at all. >.> Lol.
I think this drabble is kind of lame, but oh well. Kisame can be kind of lame too, so it fits. xD Lol.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You watched in fascination as his body glided through the lake, your own body hidden from his view within the dense forest. If he knew you were there then he would probably stop swimming and either chase you away or kill you on the spot. And so, you chose to stay hidden because, honestly, you liked to watch him swim.
It was odd; on land he was ugly, brutish, frightening even. But within the water he was beautiful and elegant, as if he belonged there.
And maybe he did.
You stared on with large eyes, entranced by his graceful movements within the water. Arms rippling with muscles made large strokes, breaking through the water’s surface and causing droplets to splash against his cheeks and in his hair. His wet body gleamed in the moonlight and for a moment you almost forgot that you hated him and were disgusted by the sight of him.
Almost.
You weren’t sure how long you had stood there watching him swim, but it must’ve been a considerable amount of time. The night sky was lightening up; the sun would rise within an hour or two. He must’ve noticed this too because he reluctantly pulled himself out of the lake and shook the excess water off of him like a shaggy dog.
His blue-gray skin was still smooth, not pruned, you noted, even after all that time he had spent in the water. You supposed this had something to do with his appearance; perhaps his skin was different from a normal man’s. The most contact you had ever had with him was during the occasional sparring match, but the feel of his skin is the last thing on your mind when you’re dodging potentially fatal blows from an S-class criminal wielding a chakra-devouring blade.
Back to the present, he had finished swimming so you had nothing to look at. You turned around to leave but silently cursed yourself when you stepped on a fallen branch, the crunching sound it made causing him to look in your direction. At first he looked worried and prepared to get into a fighting stance, but soon his muscles relaxed and a smirk appeared over his features once he realized who was there.
“You can come out now” he called out to you. The sound made you grimace; you could hear the smugness in his voice.
Still, there was little point in hiding when he knew you were there so you came out into the open. “Hello Kisame” you stated calmly, taking a step closer to him. “Visiting with your relatives?” you asked, gesturing towards the lake.
“Heh. Funny. You’re a real comedian, kid” he said, a smarmy grin on his face. “So, how long have you been out there?”
“Not long” you answered quickly; too quickly, in fact.
He chuckled, the sound deep and raspy. “You’re a terrible liar.”
You opened your mouth to argue with him but thought better of it and kept silent. Instead you just laughed the comment off. “Well, someone has to make sure you don’t get attacked while you’re splashing around like an idiot” you remarked, crossing your arms with a grin. “I swear, one of these days you’re going to get yourself killed.”
Kisame waved his hand dismissively at you. “Yeah, yeah. What are you? My mother?” he growled out as he tapped some water out of his ear. “Besides, it’s not as if you’d care if I died anyway.”
“That’s not true!” The words had slipped out of your mouth before you could stop them. Kisame quirked an eyebrow in response. “I m-mean,” you started, flustered and wide-eyed, “If you were dead, who would I make fun of?”
He laughed again, his warm breath on your face. When did he get so close to you?
“Like I said before…” he trailed off, his lips hovering over your ear and heating your flesh. “You’re a terrible liar.”
You shivered; you didn’t know what to expect. Would he hold you? Bite you? Kiss you?
You opened your mouth in a silent scream as you were pushed back violently, landing backwards into the lake. You broke through the water’s surface, sputtering the liquid out of your mouth. “KISAME!” you shrieked, wiping wet hair out of your eyes as he laughed at you.
“I just thought you’d like to go for a little swim since you were watching me for so long” he remarked, the corners of his lips curling into a sneer. You growled and splashed in his direction but he just chortled in response.
And Kisame walked away to dry himself off, leaving you in the lake to enjoy your swim.
