And now, the Hidan x You drabble. I sort of dreaded writing this one. Hidan is my least favorite member of Akatsuki, not that I dislike him or anything; he’s just not my cup of tea. Oh well. I promised myself I’d write one for every member of Akatsuki and when I say every member I mean every member.

“Are you an angel?”
You found yourself staring up at a pale, heavenly face, skin smoothed and unmarred by the world. Unnatural-looking silver hair was slicked back neatly, not a single strand out of place. Soon you were lost in a pair of violet eyes filled with a strange light that you couldn’t identify.
He grinned; the way his lips curled upward in a smile to reveal white teeth almost looked demonic, yet it seemed to strangely belong on his face.
“Heh” he let out a chuckle, the sound as smooth and soft as the finest silk. “Not exactly” he replied, his tongue moving to sweep across his teeth.
Your eyes drifted down to his hands; he was fingering a silver necklace, twisting and twirling the jewelry in his hands as he closed his eyes, his lips moving in a silent prayer. He finished the prayer and put the rosary away before directing his attention back to you. He held your gaze as he reached back behind him and drew his weapon, a scythe with three blades. The light of the moon reflected off the metallic surface and gleamed sinisterly within the darkness of the night.
Your eyes lingered on the scythe a moment longer before turning back to the angelic-looking man. “What are you going to do with that?” you asked, your head tilting to the side.
The man gave you a dull look. “Are you serious?” You tilted your head even farther to the side. “I’m going to sacrifice you to Jashin.”
You briefly glanced back at the scythe before directing your attention back towards the man. “Are you the angel of death?”
He grinned, his eyes shining with a sadistic light and his spittle-covered teeth gleaming in the dark. “You could say that…” he drawled, swiping a finger against the edge of the scythe’s top blade, a satisfied grunt coming from him as a trail of blood dripped from a newly-opened gash on his finger. “So, any last requests?”
“What’s your name?”
The man faltered. “You’re about to be sacrificed and you want to know my name?!” he asked disbelievingly. You slowly nodded your head. He chuckled lightly, his features softening just barely. “Heh. You’re a weird kid, seriously.”
“So I’ve been told” you replied, the corners of your lips curled up into a small smile.
“The name’s Hidan.”
You chuckled. “I’ve never heard of an angel named Hidan before.”
“And I’ve never heard of a little brat that laughs in the face of death” he returned with a scowl.
“Ah, touché.”
“So,” he started as he raised his scythe above his head, “Any other dumb questions before you die?” The look in his eyes told you that he hoped you didn’t have any; he was all too ready to behead you, impale you, or kill you in whatever way he did to his victims. However, you were determined to use your last moments of living to annoy him.
“Just one last question” you muttered absentmindedly, your fingers twirling around a loose strand of your hair. “What kind of religious man goes about killing people?”
His eyes brightened and his lips curled upward. “I’m glad you asked that. You see, Jashin…”
You allowed your thoughts to trail as he explained his odd religion to you. It didn’t make any sense to you; you couldn’t understand why a religion would not only condone violence but require it as well. So, instead of listening to Hidan’s words, you watched his lips as they moved at lightning speed while he ecstatically shared his religion with someone he thought was interested.
“It’s good to find someone interested in Jashin, seriously. Maybe there is some hope for this world full of heathens” he finished with a grin as he reached into one of the pockets within his cloak, pulling out a necklace identical to the one he had been holding earlier, now hanging around his neck; a metal circle with a triangle in the center.
It was a bit tacky and not really your style, but you’d seen more hideous-looking accessories before so you didn’t complain.
“You’re lucky that Jashin needs more followers than he needs sacrifices, kid” he said with a grin, causing you to direct your attention away from the necklace and back towards him. A mischievous glint shined in his eyes; you knew the look probably should’ve unnerved you but you just smiled back at Hidan, your head tilting to the side cutely.
He turned away from you, waving a hand in dismissal as he started to walk away, humming a cheery little ditty under his breath as he went.
He was leaving you? So soon? Too bad; what little time you had spent with him had been entertaining. If only you could find a way to make him stay just a little while longer.
The corners of your lips curled up into a small smirk. “Hey, Hidan!” you called to him. He turned around; the expression on his face was impossible to detect since he was too far away, but you were sure that if you could see his face that his eyebrows would be raised. “Jashin sucks!”
You turned and ran, not needing to look back to see if Hidan was chasing after you. The sudden outburst of profanities so foul they would make sailors’ ears bleed was enough for you. You briefly wondered which one of you would grow tired and give up first, but you decided that you didn’t really care about the outcome. All you cared about was the present.
And, right now, you had an angel to pester.
