In my entire life, I've only read one reader-insert you x Kakuzu fic, and it was on Quizilla and kind of creeped me out.
Well, this is my tribute to the greedy brute; he's secretly awesome, you know. >.> lol.
There are some things money can't buy. For everything else there's MasterCard.
Here's some semi-humorous (in my opinion at least) You x Kakuzu.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Money can’t buy you happiness, you know” you lectured loudly, your narrowed gaze focused on Kakuzu.
The man was currently counting the money he received from a bounty, making sure that he wasn’t underpaid. He didn’t even bother to look up at you; he had heard this rant from you more than enough times and it wasn’t worth his attention. Instead he pretended to count his earnings though he had already counted it three times and knew he had been paid the promised amount.
“What will money get you, hm?” You allowed some time for your rhetorical question to sink in, though your words fell upon deaf ears. “Nicer clothing? Finer foods? Cheap companionship for the night? Nothing that will last you very long. And then, one day, that money will run out and you’ll have nothing left.”
Kakuzu might’ve laughed at your naivety had he not felt that you weren’t worth the wasted breath.
“There are more important things to live than money” you continued, your hands on your hips as you took a step closer to Kakuzu. “Money can’t comfort you, or give you a shoulder to cry on, or keep you warm at night. It can’t give you love, or protection, or friendship. All it can do is try to fill that empty void in your life; try and fail.”
Kakuzu wondered how much longer you could continue on like that; hopefully it would be no longer than Hidan with his religious speeches. Though, Kakuzu decided he’d rather hear the pale-haired man rant about Jashin than hear the rubbish that was coming out of your mouth.
And at least when Hidan got excruciatingly annoying, Kakuzu didn’t have to worry about murdering the immortal man when he took out all his anger on the religious zealot.
“Money is the root of all evil.”
Kakuzu found this statement of yours ironic considering he was the member of a terrorist organization bent on political control over the world.
“Material possessions are temporary and will only last your lifetime.”
Good thing he could steal hearts from others and live way past his own time as long as he had a single beating heart, even if it wasn’t his own. That way his life wasn’t so temporary.
“The best things in life are free.”
Were you still rattling on about pointless things? Though Kakuzu was hardly paying attention to your words, the sound of your voice was starting to get on his nerves. He needed to find a way to shut you up. And fast.
He turned to you, inverse-eyes holding your gaze. You found your body to be still (from fear?) as he stepped closer to you until his face was only an inch away from yours. He pulled down the cloth that covered his mouth, revealing rough lips with stitches in the corners.
You turned a very interesting shade of red, Kakuzu noted, as his lips descended upon your own.
The contact had been brief but it had still left you speechless; whether it was from embarrassment, shock, or indignation, Kakuzu was not sure. Either way, it had created the desired effect and had stopped your annoying jabbering.
“Maybe you’re right.”
You looked over to Kakuzu, your eyes wide and your cheeks still flaming as you watched him go back to counting his money. His eyes were still focused on you, the corners of his lips quirking amusedly.
