Disclaimer: I don't own Yugioh, I make no moneys. T_T
A harmless little tap met with Ryou's skin and he looked up into the crimson eyes of who could only be the Master's killer, "P-please don't kill me." He whimpered pathetically while shivering beneath the gaze of the blood coated man.
The man remained silent before turning to leave the room; the lights began to go out as he moved. Ryou did not want to be left alone in the dark so he cautiously followed the man from the room.
"Your name is Ryou, right?" The man spoke finally.
"Yes, and what about you?" Ryou asked cautiously.
There was no response for a long while and Ryou thought he would get none; but as Ryou opened his mouth to ask a new question the man spoke, "I am Yami."
Ryou followed him back into the dinning room; the chair he had barricaded the door with was smashed to pieces and other chairs were knocked out of place. Yami stepped up and began to clean the mess.
"Ah, let me help!" Ryou began to pick up pieces of wood, "It's my fault, anyway."
"You were accused of theft?" Yami stood and placed the pile in a corner by the untouched door; Ryou followed suit.
"Yes. I swear I've been framed, I would never steal!" Ryou shook his head sadly, "It doesn't matter now; they're convinced I'm guilty, even with his death I've got to keep running."
The other turned, his cape ghosting over his guest's arm, and his authoritative gaze froze the boy in his place, "You've been a village boy all your life, haven't you?" Yami didn't wait for a reply. He turned and made his way back to the debris of the chair, "There's no way you can survive out there. You have no food, you have no water; you will be unable to move without sandals and at night you will freeze. There will be little hope for you to survive."
Ryou turned away and his gaze met the floor; a small, worried frown crept across his face, "Then, at least, I will die free."
"Or..." Yami paused before kneeling down and beginning to clean up the smaller pieces of the mess. Intrigued, Ryou stepped closer, "I am running too, we could always run together."
Ryou smiled at the offer and opened his mouth to respond, but Yami hushed him with a wave of his hand, "Don't decide now, stay the night and tell me tomorrow."
