Behind the right door Ryou was met with darkness and his breath quickened in fear. With his arms extended he began to walk into the room, as he moved a small light appeared across the room; each step lit up more and more path until Ryou had met the light.
As Ryou continued, leaving the lights to continue behind, he began to notice the details to a figure where the lights started. He was sure that the shadowy person was a man, probably taller than him, with a dark colored hair. He was standing at the top of a set of stairs completely still and seemingly watching the approach of his visitor.
Soon Ryou was standing at the base looking up into crimson eyes. The man remained silent with his gaze on Ryou almost unblinking.
Suddenly the doors behind shook and were thrust open illuminating the tanned face above him. Crimson eyes flashed and the formerly stone still man moved forward. He seemed to flow as he moved past Ryou; it was as if he never touched the ground.
Ryou shivered as the amethyst cape brushed against his pale arm. He recoiled nearly tripping on the stairs while the figure continued on.
Ryou's former captor met the mysterious man in the middle of the room, their gazes locked in study of the other. Finally the man spoke for the first time; addressing his newest guest, "Welcome sir, what brings you here?"
"Sorry for the intrusion into your home, but I am only trying to recapture dear Ryou here." A tan hand was flicked in the direction of the runaway causing Ryou to recoil, "I just need to return him to prison, surely you don't want this thief in your home."
Suddenly control left the normally meek boy and he snarled at the man he sought protection from, "I told you! I am no thief! Leave me!"
A snarl met his own, "So then all the witnesses have been lying? That can hardly be the case!" He turned his conversing back to the mystery man, "If you will be so kind, sir, as to move aside."
"No." he responded casually, "You see, I happen to be a criminal myself."
"What?" the other yelped, "A criminal?"
"Shouldn't the hidden underground cave be a giveaway?" the man taunted, "Unfortunately, I can't let you leave with the knowledge of my whereabouts. I'm afraid you'll have to die."
With no further warning the criminal leapt forward clashing swords with the other. Ryou turned away at the first sign of blood, the groans and yelps of pain almost too much for him alone.
Finally a last scream echoed about the large room and Ryou knew it was over but he was afraid to look.
