Disclaimer: Lucky for you, I don't own Naruto.

No matter what story you were in, the ending was always the same.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a tragedy.
There were days when you would feel as if nothing in your life ever worked out right and if anything bad could happen, it most likely would happen. You’d fail a mission; Tobi would get blown up by Deidara. You’d receive a letter in the mail from your parents saying that they’d disowned you; Tobi would face the wrath of Itachi’s mangekyou sharingan. You’d run out of your favorite flavor of ice cream; Tobi would get blown up by Deidara. Again.
When you’d feel especially distressed, all the little things would just pile up on you and you would cry and cry and Tobi wouldn’t know what to do.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a comedy.
Smart remarks and witty comebacks would fly across the room. Sometimes you’d call him pumpkin-head and he’d call you pancake-butt. You’d call him super freak and he’d call you freak-a-leak. You’d call him the brainless wonder and he’d remain silent because, really, Tobi wasn’t that good at coming up with teasing nicknames on his own, especially when he didn’t mean any of them. Still, the two of you would have a good laugh afterwards because it was all in good humor.
And when Deidara used his exploding clay on Tobi, Tobi would never get hurt too bad; otherwise it wouldn’t be a comedy.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a mystery.
On particularly slow days, the Leader of Akatsuki would gather everyone together and ask ridiculous questions of everyone like, “Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?” or, “Which one of you placed my hand in a cup of warm water while I was sleeping?” or something else along those lines. Mostly, everyone would just roll their eyes and pretend to be listening then forget what Leader would say and go about their own business. But not you and Tobi. The two of you would get to the bottom of the case and investigate, much to everyone else’s irritation.
Hidan swore to his god that he’d never forgive the two of you for ratting him out about the cup of warm water.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a horror.
On dark, stormy nights when the thunder pounded and the lightning lit the sky, you and Tobi would always find one another. Some nights you’d go to Tobi’s room and find him hiding in his closet. Some nights Tobi would come to your room and find you huddled under your bedcovers. Either way, the two of you would spend the rest of the night holding each other, trying to ignore the unpleasant howls of the wind and the pain-filled screams coming from Zetsu’s room.
The pounding of Tobi’s heartbeat against your own was more comforting than it should have been.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a science fiction.
The two of you would stare in awe, dumbstruck at the sight of shiny contraptions, doodads, and machinery that neither of you could even begin to understand. You would mess with vials that shouldn’t be messed with and Tobi would press buttons that shouldn’t be pressed. Kakuzu would find the two of you and spoil your fun soon after, chasing you and Tobi away for playing around with fragile and expensive, he would stress, equipment.
Once Kakuzu would be out of earshot, you and Tobi would plot to do it all over again.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in an adventure.
Enemies would pop out of nowhere for surprise attacks. Tobi would just barely dodge the kunai aimed for his head and you would jump into battle and deliver a well-aimed kick to the opposing ninja’s head. If the ninja used a substitution jutsu, you’d crush your toes from kicking at a sturdy log while Tobi would find the enemy ninja and pounce on his back. On rare occasions, you and Tobi would have to slay a vile beast, a tailed demon; those were the harder assignments, but you and Tobi would always try your best.
And if your best wasn’t enough, Deidara would come to your and Tobi’s aid. Not without complaining, of course.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a foreign language.
There were some days when other Akatsuki members would talk to the two of you and neither one of you would really know what they were saying. On some occasions it was because Zetsu was mumbling to himself, or Hidan was speaking in tongues again, but most of the time it was because you and Tobi weren’t listening. The two of you would smile and nod, ignoring the gibberish that would come from the others’ mouths then turn towards one another with knowing grins.
Maybe that was why Leader didn’t care much for you or Tobi, not that it bothered you any. You didn’t listen to what he’d say half the time anyway.
Sometimes you and Tobi would be in a romance.
You’d be confused of how feelings for a close friend would change into something more so suddenly. Simple hand-contact would send tingles down your spine. A simple “Hello” would make your legs turn into jelly. A platonic hug between friends felt like an embrace with a well-known lover. Everything was new to you and you weren’t sure how you were supposed to act; Tobi was more than willing to teach you. Eventually you got used to the cuddling and the butterfly kisses and you weren’t quite so confused anymore.
You never used to like romance stories, but Tobi helped you to change your mind.
No matter what, once the story was finished it would end happily ever after.
At the end of a tragedy, you and Tobi would manage to cheer each other up.
At the end of a comedy, you and Tobi would hide explosive clay in Deidara’s underwear drawer.
At the end of a mystery, you and Tobi would solve the whodunit, no matter how dumb it was.
At the end of a horror, you and Tobi would help each other survive another night.
At the end of a science fiction, you and Tobi would mess around with the machines and neither of you ever broke anything, to Kakuzu’s knowledge.
At the end of an adventure, you and Tobi would slay the beast, even if you received some help from a blonde knight in shining armor.
At the end of a foreign language, you and Tobi would always get away unpunished, though neither of you would ever know what your fellow Akatsuki member had said.
And at the end of a romance, you and Tobi would… well, you two would do things that are inappropriate to describe in detail in a G-rated story.
Everyone enjoys a story with a tragic conclusion, but you and Tobi preferred a happy ending.
